About Me

Sharon Browne-Peter is an advocate for Sickle Cell Disease awareness, having founded the organisation, Cells of a Generation. As someone living with this disease, Sharon's mission is deeply personal, reflecting in her belief in the importance of diversity and inclusivity in media.

 

In 2019, she expanded awareness about the condition to schools through her comic book, 'The Didi Project'. She continued her advocacy with the creation of a revealing YouTube documentary series, 'They Call Me Warrior', sharing true stories of those battling the disease.

 

Sharon has worked with the Nigerian Sickle Cell Coalition, helping shape crucial policies. Her expertise has been sought for various films and stories featuring characters with Sickle Cell Disease, including the thriller, 'Choke' (2022).

 

In 2022, Sharon joined CNN International as a freelance journalist, amplifying her advocacy to a global platform.
